Five predictions: South Carolina football vs. Georgia

South Carolina football hits the road to Athens on Saturday to open SEC play against the Georgia Bulldogs. GamecockCentral.com’s staff is back with more predictions of what will take place on the field on Saturday afternoon.
CHRIS CLARK: I have Marcellas Dial having a nice day in pass coverage and grabbing an interception off of UGA starting quarterback Carson Beck. While I have UGA winning and putting up some points, I believe Dial’s had a good start to the season and will make a big play for the Gamecocks.
WES MITCHELL: Juice Wells breaks out. South Carolina fans have been waiting for last year’s leading receiver to break out as he’s had limited snaps and limited targets in the last two weeks while he’s still returning to full-go from an offseason injury. It’s only a matter of time until Wells starts making plays like he did last year, in my opinion, and this week is as good as any, especially with the Georgia defense likely focused on Xavier Legette, the Gamecocks’ best receiver through two games.
If not Wells, then Carolina will likely need another receiver to step up and make some plays, which could be Ahmarean Brown (if healthy) or Eddie Lewis. But for the purposes of the prediction let’s go with Wells having a big day in Athens.

KENDALL SMITH: Shane Beamer will need to pull out all the stops in this one, and I think he will. I’m calling a score from special teams- Beamer Ball baby!
COLLYN TAYLOR: Trovon Baugh and Tree Babalade will take the most snaps Saturday at right guard and left tackle, respectively. That doesn’t mean either will start–especially in that kind of environment–but the way Dowell Loggains spoke this week both seem like they’re going to play. Will they start? There’s a possibility, but I think both guys log a good amount of snaps as South Carolina football tries to figure out what it has and find its best five up front.

MIKE UVA: In order for South Carolina to pull off the upset of Georgia, they’re gonna need everybody. And yes, that includes Juice Wells. While it’s hard to know for sure how many snaps Wells will get this weekend, if there were ever a time for him to show the world that he’s back, it would be on CBS against No.1 ranked Georgia. It will take the OL giving Spencer Rattler time to make plays but lookout for Wells to have a massive game and surprise 100 yards receiving.
