GameQuest: VFL Jabari Davis previews Tennessee vs. Florida

The day is finally here. It’s Tennessee and Florida in The Swamp for bragging rights and good position in the Southeastern Conference on the line. The first of The Big 3, the Vols are looking for their first win in Gainesville since 2003.

Tennessee snapped a five-game losing-skid a season ago with the 38-33 win in Knoxville and are seeking back-to-back victories over Florida for the first time since 2003-2004. The game will be televised on ESPN and kicks off at 7 o’clock eastern time.

Joining Eric Cain and Grant Ramey on the GameQuest podcast this week, it’s VFL Jabari Davis.

Davis is remembered by Vols’ fans as a player who had his way with the Gators. As a freshman in 2001, the 240-pound bruiser found the end zone twice on just four carries for 11 yards in the ballgame. In all, Davis scored six touchdowns against Florida on 38 carries, totaling 132 yards. The running back finished with a 3-1 record against the rival with two wins in The Swamp.

Tennessee and Florida meet for the 53rd time in the series history today. Florida leads the rivalry 31-21 but are 6.5-point underdogs at home for this one.
