ScoopDuck Roundtable: Offensive Player of the Game vs Hawaii

In just about 24 hours we’ll be watching as the Ducks take on Hawaii in Eugene. Which means we’re coming to a close on the roundtables for this week.
In this episode we look at who might step up on offense for the Ducks. Below are the picks explained. Enjoy.
Jarrid Denney: Troy Franklin
Until a team shows that it can contain Troy Franklin, he’ll continue to be my pick for these roundtables. Oregon’s star wideout caught six passes for 103 yards in Week 2 and eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the second time this season.
Bo Nix has targeted Franklin 18 times through two games. That’s eight more than any other pass-catcher on the team. While the Ducks undoubtedly have plenty of quality receivers, it’s clear that Franklin is their No. 1 option in the passing game.
Joel Gunderson: Tez Johnson
This past Saturday was our first real glimpse of the electric Johnson; his catch-and-burst touchdown that put Oregon up 15-7 was a reminder as to why the staff was so eager to add him this off-season.
Against Hawaii, I fully expect Oregon to run the ball, and run it a lot; their offensive line struggled against Texas Tech, and they’ll look to establish a rhythm. But you have to pass to keep the defense off balance, and this could very well be a game where Johnson catches only 4-5 balls, but racks up a bunch of yards and touchdowns.
Doug Scott: Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving bounces back from a rough showing to record almost 200 yards of total offense along with 2 TDs.
Corpatty: Bucky Irving
After being stifled on the ground in Lubbock, I expect Oregon to make a concerted effort to get the run game rolling again. And at the center of the should be Bucky Irving. Look for Irving to break off a couple of long runs and finish the day with 120+ yards rushing and 2+ TDs.
Jhop: Gary Bryant Jr.
Well I had the benefit of seeing everyone else’s picks before I made mine. To be honest I probably would have gone Bucky too. But I’m switching things up and I’ll go Bryant. Here’s why. I think we know Troy Franklin is him. Bo knows what he has in Tez too. I could see him trying to work Bryant in a little more and developing that next option.
