JUCO defensive back Laquan Robinson locks in official visit to Auburn

Junior college defensive back Laquan Robinson has locked in an official visit to Auburn football, Auburn Live has learned.

Robinson, a sophomore at Holmes Community College in Mississippi, will be on the Plains for an official visit Sept. 29-Oct. 1. Auburn hosts No. 1 Georgia on Sept. 30.

Robinson, who is considered by 247 Sports as the top-ranked junior college safety in the country, already is familiar with Auburn. He is from Greenville, Ala. and graduated Greenville High in 2022.

He spent the 2022 season at Holmes where he recorded 46 tackles, 39 of which were solo stops, and an interception. In two games this season, Robinson has 11 tackles, including five solos.

Robinson in August released a list of his top-five schools. It included Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Houston and Texas A&M.

Auburn vs. UGA shaping up to be big recruiting weekend

The weekend of Sept. 29-Oct. 1 is shaping up to be a big one for Auburn recruiting. In addition to Robinson, at least six others are scheduled to be on campus for official visits.

The others include five-star FSU defensive back commitment KJ Bolden, four-star Auburn quarterback commitment Walker White, four-star Alabama defensive lineman commitment Jeremiah Beaman, four-star Auburn linebacker commitment Joseph Phillips, three-star Auburn linebacker commitment D’Angelo Barber and three-star offensive tackle Favour Edwin. More likely will be added.

Mississippi State LB commit Fred Clark talks new Auburn offer, potential visit

Mississippi State linebacker commitment Fred Clark on Monday added an offer from Auburn football, and it was an offer he’d been hoping to receive.

Clark, who attends Winona (Miss.) Secondary School, had wanted an offer from the Tigers since visiting for several games last fall.

“It felt great because I really had been waiting on that offer,” he said. “I had really been thinking hard about going to Auburn since last year when I took a lot of visits there. I went to three games there last year.”

Clark learned of the offer from first-year linebackers coach Josh Aldridge.

“After practice, (Aldridge) texted me and told me he was going to give me a call,” Clark said. “So, he called and offered me. It felt great.”

Clark has not met Aldridge in person, but has communicated often with him via text and phone calls.

“He seems cool,” he said. “I’m just ready to meet him in person and get to know him a little better.”
