Big visits for Colorado, Florida, Georgia and Texas targets this weekend

We are in mid-September and most college football programs have played at least two games this season and recruiting is still a top priority for the coaches across the country.
Georgia is ranked No. 1 in the country and they have some top recruits coming in for the South Carolina game. Colorado is the most talked about program early in the season and the Buffaloes look to move to 3-0 this weekend against Colorado State. Deion Sanders will have some top targets on campus. College football wants Florida vs. Tennessee to get back to what it was in the 1990s and the Gators will have major recruits in town this weekend for their match-up against the Vols. Texas will host Wyoming as they hope to build off their big win over Alabama on the road last weekend and some major targets will be in town.
Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons takes a look at some of the top targets expected in Boulder, Gainesville, Athens and Austin this weekend.
Colorado vs. Colorado State
Coach Prime will have some commitments in town, like four-star athlete Aaron Butler and three-star offensive lineman Talan Chandler, two leaders of this class. The biggest recruit in the 2024 class expected in town is elite offensive tackle Jordan Seaton. His recruitment is wide open and the Buffaloes have a chance to make a move this weekend. Schools like Alabama and Florida have been considered favorites for the star at IMG Academy via the Washington, D.C. area. Alabama commit Jeremiah Beaman and Tennessee commit Boo Carter will be in town as well. This will be Beaman’s first visit to Boulder and Carter has visited before.
Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood out of Belleville (Mich.) is also expected. The No. 1 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings will make his first trip to Colorado. Heading into this visit, the buzz is around LSU and Michigan with a decision expected before the end of his junior year. Another top 2025 prospect expected on campus is Dallas Wilson. The four-star wide receiver out of Tampa (Fla.) Tech is committed to Oregon.
Florida vs. Tennessee
Florida will have many commitments in town this weekend, including five-star quarterback DJ Lagway. He will be working on Daytona (Fla.) Mainland teammates LJ McCray and Zay Mincey. Heading into this visit, Florida is battling Miami for Mincey, a four-star safety. He is not expected to announce his commitment until December, but those plans could change. McCray, a four-star defensive lineman will likely make his decision sooner. He was at Miami last weekend and in Orlando for the Florida State vs. LSU game on Labor Day weekend. Georgia is deep in this race too. McCray has an official visit to Florida State lined up in October, then a decision could be made.
Numerous 2025 targets are expected at the Swamp. The list is long, but some of the top in-state recruits planning to be at Florida are four-star athlete DJ Pickett, four-star safety Hylton Stubbs, four-star wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery, four-star EDGE Javion Hilson and four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles. Out of that group, the Gators may be in the best position with Stubbs. The Gators and Seminoles are high on his list. Pickett likes Florida a lot too.
Some of the out-of-state names to know are four-star running back Ousmane Kromah, four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery, four-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson and four-star quarterback Antwann Hill. Florida State quarterback commit Tramel Jones is expected on campus as well.

Georgia vs. South Carolina
This will likely be Georgia’s biggest weekend for hosting recruits this season and it will be loaded in Athens. Five-Star Plus+ quarterback commitment Dylan Raiola will be back for his third game in a row. Other commits like Five-Star Plus+ linebacker Justin Williams, four-star running back Chauncey Bowens and four-star offensive tackle Marques Easley will be in town. Running back commit Nathaniel Frazier will take his official visit this weekend.
Five-Star Plus+ safety KJ Bolden committed to Florida State over Georgia and others on Aug. 5 and he will be in Sanford Stadium this weekend. The Bulldogs are expected to be a factor in this one until the end. Aydin Breland released his top three of Georgia, Miami and Oregon earlier this weekend and the five-star defensive lineman out of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei will visit Georgia for the 5th time this weekend.
It will be an elite group of underclassmen in town. It starts with 2025 Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Elijah Griffin. Georgia is in a good spot early for the in-state target. Zayden Walker is another top in-state priority for the Bulldogs. It is Georgia and Miami battling at the top for the linebacker out of Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County. Ethan Barbour is announcing his commitment on Sept. 22 and after visiting last weekend, the four-star tight end out of Alpharetta (Ga.) is planning another trip to Athens for the South Carolina game.

Texas vs. Wyoming
Texas had a statement win over Alabama last weekend and Steve Sarkisian will look to capitalize on that momentum this weekend in Austin. It will be loaded with top underclassmen targets, but there are at least two 2024 targets visiting this weekend too. It starts with Ryan Wingo, a five-star wide receiver out of St. Louis University who will be on an unofficial visit. He took his unofficial visit in June and there is some buzz around the Longhorns. Tennessee is a school still in this, but Texas’ biggest competition is Missouri. Wingo was at one time set on announcing on Dec. 20, but an earlier decision is strongly being considered.
The lone official visitor of the weekend is four-star EDGE Solomon Williams. Texas is a finalist for the Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day star and there in some intel that suggests the Longhorns are in his top two heading into this visit. This will be Williams’ first college football game, so Texas will aim to set the bar high. We are watching to see if in-state targets Kobe Black and Terry Bussey show up. Black is considered a strong Texas lean and Texas is still working to make up ground on Texas A&M and others for Bussey.
Some of the top underclassmen expected are five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore, four-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, four-star wide receiver Taz Williams, four-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh and four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris. Moore is committed to LSU, but still in regular talks with the Texas staff. Fasusi likely has Oklahoma and Texas on top of his list. Harris is coming from Mater Dei, and this will be his third visit to Austin, so the interest in the Longhorns looks real.
