2025 ATH Darrell Johnson names USC in top schools

One of USC’s class of 2025 offers, Eastman (Ga.) Dodge County athlete Darrell Johnson, has trimmed his recruitment down to 11 schools.

The 11 schools are USC, Alabama, Virginia Tech, UNC, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, UCF, and Michigan.

Johnson is the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 9 athlete in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 16 player in Georgia.

On3 ranks Johnson higher than some in the industry, tabbing him as the No. 97 overall prospect and No. 12 player in Georgia.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound athlete holds 19 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Florida has the current lead to land a commitment from Johnson at 38.1%. Georgia Tech comes in at second place at 17.5% odds. 

RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
