Report: Norman PD confirms ‘suspicious activity’ at Lincoln Riley’s home, no report filed

Even in his second season with USC, the story of Lincoln Riley leaving Oklahoma is still present. On Wednesday, Riley revealed there were Sooners fans attempting to break into his house in Norman following the news of his departure. Riley claims his family was threatened throughout the process, wanting to get out West as fast as possible.

George Stoia of On3’s Sooner Scoop followed up with the Norman Police Department on the matter, where they did receive calls of “suspicious activity” at Riley’s home. It came three weeks after Riley announced he would be taking the USC job.

However, no official police report was ever filed on the matter.

“I spoke with Norman PD just now,” Stoia said via Twitter. “They did receive calls for “suspicious activity” at the Riley home on Dec. 17 and Dec. 19, 2021 — three weeks after his departure from OU. There was not an official incident or police report. Do with that as you will.”

Riley sat down for an interview with Graham Bensinger to discuss leaving Oklahoma, revealing people tried to break into his house.

“Had a lot of different people trying to break into the house the days after it happened,” Riley said. “And 95% of the fans and people out there at Oklahoma or anybody else are great. You typically always have that percentage that, at times, take it too far. Obviously, this was one of those instances.”
