2025 four-star RB Jordon Davison building with Texas, Tashard Choice

The Texas win over Alabama last Saturday had a ripple on many of the 2025 targets on the Longhorn big board. Jordon Davison included. 

The 6-foot-0, 175-pound On3 four-star running back watched the Horns take down the Crimson Tide, and that only endears him to UT even more. 

“Viral,” Davison said, about his first thoughts after the Longhorns win in Tuscaloosa. “It went viral. It was crazy.” 

Has he ever connected with Saraland (Ala.) QB KJ Lacey, the Texas commit for the 2025 class? 

“Yeah, that’s my boy,” Davison told Inside Texas. “We played 7-on-7 together. Of course (he’s recruiting me).”

What stood out about the Texas offense, in his opinion? 

“The different type of ways they got their guys the ball,” said Davison. 

Davison has made three unofficial visits to Texas since April of 2022. Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson’s success under Tashard Choice and Steve Sarkisian’s offensive scheme are strong data points in this recruitment.

A running back that can catch will have more opportunities in this offense. Davison agreed. 

Davison is a top five target for Texas in the 2025 class. The On3 four-star has lots of ties to Texas, including former teammates in Austin like Spencer Shannon, top 2024 targets Brandon Baker and DeAndre Carter also being pursued by the Longhorns, and offers to classmates Marcus Harris and Shaun Scott.

USC, Ohio State, and Oklahoma are all in the hunt, but UT remains in a great spot for Davison today. The west coast product is a maybe for Austin this weekend for the Texas-Wyoming contest. 

Davis is the No. 30 ranked prospect overall in the On3 Industry Ranking in the 2025 cycle. He also checks in as the No. 3 ranked running back and No. 2 ranked prospect in California in the class.
