Tennessee handled business against Austin Peay in the Neyland Stadium home-opener on Saturday, 30-13. It wasn’t a spectacular showing from the Vols but a win, nonetheless. Josh Heupel and the squad will now turn their focus to Florida with a massive week ahead in the Swamp.

Nick de la Torre of Gators Online joined the show to bring a Florida perspective to the rivalry conversation and to detail how Billy Napier’s team is coming along for his second season at the helm. On3 personality Andy Staples also stopped by the program to set the scene from Gainesville.

Andy Staples on what he thinks of Florida through two games ahead of Tennessee…

“I don’t know what to make of them. I know the fan base is pretty apathetic. They aren’t expecting much. If Florida can win 6 or 7 games this year, they are going to be happy with that – especially if the younger players are better. The Utah game did not inspire a lot of confidence because of what you said that the stuff they had to clean up. That actually could have been a one score game in the fourth quarter, but for a lot of the administrative coaching mistakes that were made, and that in year two is where the Florida people are like ‘okay, wait a second, you’ve been telling us that Billy Napier has this incredible attention to detail, and they’re having to number threes on the field on the punt return team. Like what what’s going on here? We’ve been sold a bill of goods and that’s the part that they got to show that they have fixed and if they do that against Tennessee, they can be competitive in the game and have a chance to win if Tennessee is not playing well. But talent wise Tennessee is better right now. You know Tennessee’s got a lot better weapons than Florida has offensively. They should be able to come into Gainesville and win this game. It’s one of those deals where I think If Florida did somehow steal a win, the Tennessee fan base just has a meltdown moment.”
