On3’s No. 24 player in 2025 talks Texas, recruitment
If you missed it the other day, On3 released its first 2025 On300 rankings. These rankings are so early their greatest use is as a way to get to know some of the best players in the state and nation. I look forward to the first release more than the last release. By the time the last version is released I value my own thoughts on players I’m familiar with as much as anyone else’s.
But rankings and evaluation are @CharlesPower ‘s main job and I’ll defer to him on his early release, even on the numerous Texas sophomores I haven’t gotten to know yet. One player in which I was familiar but haven’t yet had the chance to communicate with was Katy Jordan wide receiver Andrew Marsh.
One of the first things you should know about the 2025 class is it’s loaded at wide receiver. Even the casual recruitnik has heard of Duncavnille’s Dakorien Moore. Not only does Power have Marsh rated ahead of Moore, he also Pflugerville Weiss’ Adrian Wilson ahead of the nation’s current leader in the long jump. I don’t know if Texas coaches would agree with that, but Marsh and Wilson are undoubtedly talented.
Marsh was able to stop by UT last Saturday to catch the tail end of practice. This was his first time meeting with new wide receivers coach Chris Jackson.
On Chris Jackson:
“This was my first time talking to him. He seems like he came from a good background. He was very welcoming and seems like he has a lot to teach us.”
Possible return visit:
“I’m coming back this week for Texas Relays so I may try and go watch practice if the timing works out.”
[Reminder: Players are not allowed to visit with coaches on the day they compete at the fabled track meet]
Of schools that have offered, who does he communicate with the most?
“LSU, OU, TCU, USC, Oregon, UTSA, U of H, Nebraska.”
Offers he covets?
“The Florida schools, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennesse, really I just want to find the best place for me. As long as they want me as much as I want to be there.”
What stood out on game day visits this year, he went to a lot of good places? (UT/Bama, LSU, Oregon, Ohio State):
“I would say the LSU/Bama game definitely. The TCU/K-State game. They both went to overtime.”
Upcoming visits:
“Schools I plan to see so far over the spring and summer are USC, Nebraska, U of H, Auburn, LSU, OU.”
Players he watches:
“Growing up my favorite player was probably Andre Johnson but as I got older I started liking Ocho Cinco, DeAndre Hopkins, Stefon Diggs, and Justin Jefferson.”
Marsh ranks as On3’s No. 24 player in the nation and No. 3 player in the state. His early Industry Ranking is almost as sporty, at No. 33 in the nation and No. 7 in the state.
