Joe Burrow, Bengals reach agreement on 5-year, $275M contract extension
Joe Burrow just got paid. The Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback inked a record-breaking deal on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Per the report, Burrow reached an agreement with the Bengals for a five-year, $275 million contract extension. Of that total, $219.01 comes in guaranteed money. The new deal makes the quarterback the highest-paid player in NFL history.
Timing couldn’t be better, as the 2023 regular season starts on Sunday for Burrow and the Bengals. They’ll play the Cleveland Browns to open the year.
Burrow is considered one of the top players in the league and Cincinnati obviously has a lot of interest in keeping the quarterback in town for quite some time.
