2025 4-star RB Deondrae Riden with upcoming USC game visit
One of the top early targets for USC in the class of 2025 has been Desoto (Tex.) four-star running back Deondrae “Tiger” Riden.
Riden has visited USC twice, the most recently coming June 15. Over those two visit, Riden has connected and bonded immensely with running backs coach Kiel McDonald, Lincoln Riley, and others on staff.
Well, Riden will be traveling to Los Angles once again, he confirmed to me today. His three visits to USC will be tied for this most in his recruitment with SMU and Texas A&M. Texas and Oklahoma have also receiver multiple visits.
Riden will make an unofficial visit to USC for the game against Utah on October 21.
Riden is the No. 150 overall prospect and No. 11 running back in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 27 player in Texas.
As a sophomore at Desoto, Riden had 194 carries for 1,339 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. He averaged 6.9 yards per carry and 103 yards per game. He was one of the most productive backs in the state, as only a sophomore.
Riden talks with Kiel McDonald on a regular basis, last speaking with him following USC’s win over Nevada. He also tells me he has been tuned in early this season to get some looks at the Trojans offense.
He says on his visit he wants to see “an explosive high scoring offense” for himself.
Trojans are a real contender for Riden
Riden has some of the top programs in the country chasing after him, but USC is among those that have stood out from the beginning. His third visit on his own dime should show the interest level is high.
As most running back targets point out, the primary reason USC is standing out for Riden is the presence and recruiting efforts from Kiel McDonald.
McDonald made his way out to Desoto this spring to check in on the four-star back. As many know, McDonald loves his Texas running backs.
The idea of playing in a Lincoln Riley run offense is another aspect of why the Trojans are at the top for him.
Riden is one of 12 offers at the running back position for USC in the class of 2025, but since the beginning he has been one of the top targets for Riley and McDonald.
