Recruit of the week: Kansas State target Linkon Cure

The KSO recruit of the week is Goodland tight end and Kansas State target Linkon Cure.

NAME: Linkon Cure
RANKING: UR
CLASS: 2025
POSITION: Tight end
HOMETOWN: Goodland, Kansas
HIGH SCHOOL: Goodland
POWER FIVE OFFERS: Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa State, Missouri
COMMITTED: N/A

Recruiting Summary

Going into the summer, Linkon Cure was a relative unknown. He did not have any offers and attends a high school not known for having Power Five prospects. Though, to be fair, they recently produced former Kansas State linebacker Levi Archer.

However, Cure was always on the K-State radar and was invited to a camp in Manhattan during the month of June.

At the Kansas State camp, Cure played defensive end, tight end and wide receiver. He was offered by the Wildcats afterwards as a tight end and has constantly been in contact with assistant coach Brian Lepak ever since.

Shortly after that performance at K-State, he camped at Iowa State, Missouri and Kansas and all three programs extended him scholarships as well.

Though just beginning his junior season, the Goodland product is considered a heavy lean to Kansas State. He grew up a fan of the Wildcats and went to games at Bill Snyder Family Stadium throughout his childhood.

It is also noteworthy that his trip to The Little Apple this past weekend for the season opener was his third visit in the last four months as a recruit.

“They treat me like family, and that will always keep them at the top.”

Evaluation of Kansas State target

To begin, the Goodland product is a heck of an athlete. As a sophomore last season, he won the state championship in the 300-met hurdles and was the runner up in the 110-meter hurdles. His athleticism shows up in lateral quickness and his performance in the hurdles presents itself with explosiveness.

Playing three different positions at the K-State camp illustrated all of that.

Cure also has an elite frame, especially at his age. He is already 6-feet-6 and is hovering around 220 pounds. He could easily add another 30 pounds of muscle and keep his athleticism. His blend of size and speed makes hima very, very intriguing as a prospect.

Multiple sources have told KSO they believe that he will be in the top five of prospects in the state of Kansas in the 2025 recruiting cycle. His best football is in front of him.

Cure does not have any highlights on his Hudl from last season because he was dealing with injuries for most of the year and only managed 50 yards receiving. In fact, almost his entire tape is from his basketball season where he shined and used his elite athleticism to have quite a few dunks with ease.

Prediction

It is a matter of when and not if Cure commits to Kansas State, in my opinion. He is the runaway leader in the clubhouse to be member No. 1 of the 2025 K-State recruiting class.
