Georgia 2025 commit Tae Harris: ‘Yo, this is where I’ll be playing?’
Cedartown (Ga.) four-star safety commit Tae Harris was taken aback a little bit by his first visit as a recruit to Georgia.
Harris, the No. 267 overall prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings, committed to Georgia back on June 19. He had never visited Georgia for a gameday until Saturday. Standing in the stands watching the game, Harris was hit with a lot throughout the day due to Georgia’s atmosphere.
“It caught my attention like, yo this is where I’m going to be playing,” Harris said. “I can’t wait for the hunker down 4th quarter.”
Harris got the home feeling while in Athens this weekend. He felt an attraction for Georiga and Athens. He’s been to a few games as a fan in his life and he’s always wanted to come back.
Harris felt like a part of the Georgia family already. He and his family were treated well throughout the day on Saturday.
That was one of the most impressive things about Georgia when he committed over the summer. It continued into the fall.
“The atmosphere has always felt like home,” Harris said. “The recruiting grads treated me and my family well this is why I chose UGA.”
Tae Harris working on details with Georgia staff
Harris hasn’t been able to see Georgia’s coaching staff in person since the summer when he camped in Athens.
Harris had the chance to sit with Georgia co-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp as well as running back coach Dell McGee.
The four-star felt good about the conversations and the budding relationship he continues to build in Athens.
“They all sat down and conversed with my family and made us feel welcomed,” Harris said. “They told me to come down and watch individuals. The staff really cared about how I was doing in school. It’s just the little things like that why I chose them.”
Harris also has some high expectations for the Bulldogs going into the 2023 season. Georgia enters the year as the No. 1 team in the AP Poll. They have already won two straight national championships.
Harris didn’t see anything that swayed his high expectations. He feels Georgia has a major shot at the historic three-peat.
“To me, I feel like they came out slow, which is normal first game of the season,” Harris said. “Once uga figures out where everyone fits in the lineup I definitely see a three-peat again, nothing less.”
