Sark and Saban common recruits at Texas and Alabama

When Texas takes the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday to take on Alabama, there will be a number of players that both programs wanted to sign.

Steve Sarkisian and Nick Saban have locked into some big time recruiting battles since Sarkisian was hired at Texas.

There have been more than 50 prospects with offers to both programs. This list is common recruits condensed down to prospects that were committed to both schools at one point, or made official visit to both during the process.

Players committed to both schools

Plenty will be written this week, but Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is probably the marquee recruit in the game Saturday. The Crimson Tide quarterback was a one-time Texas commitment.

Alabama sophomore running back Jamarion Miller is a second Crimson Tide player that was a one-time Texas verbal.

2021 Class had some players of note

Xavier Worthy, WR, Fresno (Calif.) Central East
Worthy initially picked Michigan over Alabama and others when Sarkisian was the Crimson Tide OC and recruiter of Worthy. He ended up at Texas after being released from his letter of intent.

Tommy Brockermeyer and James Brockermeyer picked Alabama over Texas and Clemson.

2022 Class

Shazz Preston, WR, Saint James (La.) High – Alabama
The 4-star picked Alabama over Texas and LSU. He made official visits to both Alabama and Texas.

Kendrick Law, WR, Shreveport (La.) Captain Shreve – Alabama
The Pelican State 4-star picked Alabama over Texas, LSU and Florida State. He made official visits to all four.

Neto Umeozulu, IOL, Allen (Texas) High – #AllGasNoBrakes
The 4-star mauler picked Texas over Oklahoma, Alabama, USC and Baylor. He made official visits to Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma and USC.

DJ Campbell, IOL, Arlington (Texas) Bowie – #AllGasNoBrakes
The 5-star guard picked Texas over Oklahoma and Alabama. He made official visits to all three.

Terrance Brooks, CB, Little Elm (Texas) High – #AllGasNoBrakes
The 4-star corner picked Texas over Ohio State, Alabama and Texas A&M. He flipped from Ohio State to Texas on signing day.

Isaiah Bond, WR, Buford (Ga.) High – Alabama
The 4-star picked Alabama over Florida, Miami and Texas.

2023 Class

Hunter Osborne, DL, Trussville (Al.) Hewitt-Trussville – Alabama
The 4-star defensive lineman picked Alabama over Texas and Tennessee. He made official visits to all three.

Jalen Hale, WR, Longview (Texas) High – Alabama
The 4-star from East Texas picked Alabama over Texas A&M and Texas. He made official visits to all three plus Georgia and USC.

Arch Manning, QB, New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman – #AllGasNoBrakes
The No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2023 cycle picked Texas over Alabama and Georgia. He made official visits to all three.

Anthony Hill, LB, Denton (Texas) Ryan – #AllGasNoBrakes
The 5-star linebacker flipped from Texas A&M to Texas. He made official visits to both, plus Alabama, Oklahoma and USC.

2024 Class

Colin Simmons, EDGE, Duncanville (Texas) High – #AllGasNoBrakes
The 5-star committed to Texas over LSU. He made official visits to Texas, Alabama, Miami and SMU.

Aeryn Hampton, ATH, Daingerfield 9Texas) High – #AllGasNoBrakes
The 4-star East Texas playmaker picked Texas over Alabama in July. He made June official visits to both schools.

Isaia Faga, DL, Phenix City (Al.) Central – Alabama
The under valued 3-star lineman flipped from Utah to Alabama. He made official visits to Texas and Alabama.

Terry Bussey, WR, Timpson (Texas) High
Making official visit to Alabama this weekend. Texas A&M leads Alabama, LSU and Texas.

Danny Okoye, EDGE, Tulsa (Ok.) NOAH
The 4-star has Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama and LSU vying for his commitment. He will be back in Austin September 16.

Kobe Black, CB, Waco (Texas) Connally
The 5-star is a heavy lean to Texas over Texas A&M. He has official visit dates to LSU, Alabama and Texas A&M on the books, should his recruitment ply out that long.
