3-2-1: Kansas State freshmen are impressing
It is time for the Kansas State edition of the 3-2-1 feature.
THREE THINGS WE LEARNED ABOUT KANSAS STATE
2. Freshmen: We should have listened when defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman shared that the Kansas State true freshmen may be the best class they have signed, at least on the defensive side of the ball. Six of them are already on the depth chart and even more than that could play this season. A few of note are Avery Johnson, Jayce Brown, Asa Newsom, Austin Romaine, Tre Spivey, Jack Fabris, Joe Jackson and Chiddi Obiazor.
3. New court: Unfortunately, no lavender was included but a new K-State basketball court was unveiled. Not for nothing, script ‘Wildcats’ was incorporated this time around.
TWO QUESTIONS
1. Undetermined spots: Although guys like Brendan Mott, Desmond Purnell, RJ Garcia and Will Lee solidified starting spots after some position battles, Kansas State did not determine the starter at right guard or running back. Will it be Hadley Panzer or Taylor Poitier on the interior of the offensive line? Will it be DJ Giddens or Treshaun Ward in the Wildcat backfield and how will the touches be distributed?
2. Back-up quarterback: Surprisingly, it was not just signal-caller Jake Rubley listed as the K-State back-up quarterback. The staff also chose to list Avery Johnson. What will be the plan behind Will Howard? That remains to be seen and no hints have been given.
ONE K-STATE PREDICTION
1. 50: It is a sneak peek of my Kansas State game prediction. I believe that Will Howard and Collin Klein get what they want versus SEMO and score 50+ points.
