Iowa offensive line heads into season with chip on their shoulder

Iowa’s offensive linemen couldn’t ignore the critical comments that came their way last season. The Hawkeye offense struggled and the five players up front led the way. Iowa struggled to run the football and they gave up 38 quarterback sacks.
But, since this spring, Kirk Ferentz has been effusive in his praise for the offensive line. Last year they were young. This year they are maturing and deeper than the previous season and he expects the entire group to take a leap forward.
One thing that is certain heading into the 2023 season is the Iowa offensive lineman has a pretty significant size chip on their shoulder. They have heard the doubters and they are looking to prove them wrong.
We visited with starting left tackle Mason Richman and starting center Logan Jones about the upcoming season. Jones feels infinitely better about his second season at center and tells us why. Richman talks about how the offensive line has grown and improved. He also discusses his love for the movie Step Brothers.
