2025 5-star Na’eem Offord working toward cutting down his list
Birmingham (Ala.) Parker five-star 2025 cornerback Na’eem Offord was a busy man this summer.
The On3 top-5 prospect in the junior class took visits to Alabama and Tennessee in June. And in the final week of July, he was at Georgia, Ohio State and Miami.
Now as he starts his junior season, Offord’s recruitment is beginning to come into focus a bit more. Since August 1, Auburn, Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson, Miami, Alabama and Texas A&M are reaching out almost every day. Each of those schools interests him, along with Oregon, South Carolina, Arkansas and a handful more.
By the time his season wraps up in December, he hopes to have cut that list down.
“I am working to get my list down to a real top 8 or top 10,” he told On3. “By the end of my season, I should have that.”
Busy fall ahead for Na’eem Offord
Between now and then, he has a few more visits planned.
“I’m planning to be at Louisville at Georgia Tech, Texas at Alabama, Florida State at Clemson, South Carolina at Tennessee, and Tennessee at Georgia. I am working to get to Ohio State and Miami games too, and Auburn is another school I’d like to get to.”
As it stands today, he isn’t in any hurry to make a commitment, planning to take multiple official visits beginning next summer before a decision comes.
“When it is my time, it is my time,” he said. “I will take my official visits next year and just let it play out slowly.”
Breaking down down recent visits and schools standing out
Clemson: “They are really picking it up lately. I was there in April and they offered me May 31, and they have really been coming hard. I was the first defensive back they offered and that meant a lot. Clemson is a school I am liking..They have good coaches who are good people and they love to recruit the state of Alabama. Their campus is cool and it is a school I will visit again.”
Georgia: “I have visited Georgia three times now. I grew up watching them and liking them. What I like most about Georgia is their staff. They have an awesome staff and I really vibe with them. I have a great connection with Coach Kirby Smart, and I am close with Coach Glenn Schumann and Coach Fran Brown, too. Coach Brown is my guy. Georgia definitely stands out, and every time I go there I learn from them.”
Ohio State: “The visit was great. I really like Coach Tim Walton because he will tell you the truth and keep it real with you. Everything about Coach Walton is real. He has been in the game for a while and he has coached some great players, so I like that I am getting to know him. At Ohio State, I liked the staff, the facilities and how welcoming they were.”
Miami: “I liked their whole coaching staff because they are just cool guys. I spent time with the entire defensive staff and they are solid As soon as I got there, they were screaming and just happy to get on campus. I met with Coach Cristobal for about an hour and the visit went very well. We watched them practice, I got to know the coaches and it was a great experience.”
Alabama: “When I was at Alabama in June, I just hung out and spent time with Coach Saban. I have been there six times and they are always happy to see me. I like Coach Saban and T-Rob a lot, and me and are T-Rob are cool like that. When we are off the field, we can joke around, but when we are on the field, it is serious.”
Auburn: “I have to get back to Auburn. I was there last season and I want to get back, and I have only been there once, so they want me back. They have been recruiting me as hard as anyone lately. They’re doing well in recruiting, they are putting some energy into recruiting me and I will definitely make another stop there soon. Auburn has been flipping guys lately, so I need to get back and see what is going on over there.”
