South Carolina trending for 4-star RB Daniel Hill ahead of commitment date

Meridian (Miss.) 4-star running back Daniel Hill is set to announce his commitment on Wednesday, August 23. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), one SEC school is far above the rest.
South Carolina is trending to land Hill’s commitment according to the RPM, with a 75.7% chance. In second is Alabama at 22.7%. All other schools fall below a single percentage point.
Multiple expert predictions have been entered in favor of the Gamecocks since the spring. Hill is the nation’s No. 201 overall prospect and No. 16 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player in Mississippi.
OV made impression on Hill
Hill told GamecockCentral what stood out about South Carolina after his official visit in June.
“Oh, the people,” he said. “The people and the culture, you know. Everybody loves one another and cares about one another.”
That visit to Columbia was Hill’s third time making the trip. There, he was able to keep company with a number of other top recruits, many of which were already committed to the Gamecocks.
“I got to talk to a lot of the players,” Hill said. “Most everybody there was committed, so I had a good time with asking them like what made them — a lot of them — commit. They’ve been up here more than I have.”
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Hill also took June official visits to Alabama and Auburn.

Hill currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $73,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
