Where the Florida Gators sit with each official visitor from the June 2-4 weekend

Success from a Florida Gators official visit weekend can’t be measured in the first few days after it ends. Rather, it takes weeks to fully gauge how fruitful it was.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the group of 17 recruits who officially visited the Gators from June 2-4 and see where the program sits with each a month later.
-5-star WR Jeremiah Smith, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep: Smith was committed to Ohio State when he visited the Gators and remains that way today. If any program is capable of flipping him, many think it would be Florida. Smith plans to attend at least one Gators home game this season. But he’ll also make trips to Ohio State, Florida State and Miami. Smith told Gators Online he’ll watch each of these teams closely this fall and have a final decision in December. But right now he seems to be fairly solid to the Buckeyes.

-5-star DL David Stone, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy: While Stone said he enjoyed his official, we haven’t heard anything to make us think the Gators have a shot at landing the Oklahoma native at this time. He plans to commit Aug. 26 and it is coming down to Miami, Michigan State and Oklahoma. The Sooners are the RPM favorites.
Two 5-star Gators commits officially visited June 2-4
-4-star S Xavier Filsaime, McKinney(Texas): FLORIDA GATORS COMMIT. He picked the Gators on April 13.
-4-star Edge Jordan Ross, Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills: Ross will announce Aug. 21. He told On3’s Hayes Fawcett his finalists are Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Texas. We do not expect the Gators to be the pick as Florida filled up at this spot awhile ago.
-4-star QB DJ Lagway, Willis (Texas): FLORIDA GATORS COMMIT. He picked the Gators on Dec. 7, 2022.
-4-star LB Adarius Hayes, Largo (Fla.): FLORIDA GATORS COMMIT. He picked the Gators on Jan. 28.

-4-star DL Dealyn Evans, Longview (Texas) Pine Tree: Evans, a Texas A&M commit, said the Gators helped themselves on his official, but things have been quiet since. He also officially visited TCU in June. While we don’t love Florida’s chances, Evans now is expected to visit Alabama this fall — so perhaps the doors remains slightly open for others.
The Gators are a big factor for LJ McCray
-4-star DL LJ McCray, Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland: Multiple sources think Georgia might be the Gators’ top competition at this time. Both Florida and Georgia got McCray on campus the final week of July — just before a monthlong recruiting dead period began. FSU also is in the mix. McCray has said he won’t announce a decision until after a fall official visit to Tallahassee. That takes place in October. McCray is an extremely high priority to the Gators, Dawgs and Seminoles. Not only is the Florida staff working hard, but the Gator commits also are on McCray.
-4-star LB Kris Jones, Fairfax(Va.): When Jones visited the Gators, they appeared to be the clear favorites. But after Florida picked up verbals from a few other linebackers in June, the Gators went in another direction. He ultimately committed to Georgia.
4-star TE Jonathan Echols, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy: Although the Gators liked the Tennessee commit, they prioritized other tight ends more, including Amir Jackson. When Jackson committed to them two weeks later, the Gators were done at this position.
-4-star CB Jalyn Crawford, Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview: Crawford committed to Auburn on July 15.
-4-star OT Ethan Calloway, Mooresville (N.C.) Lake Norman: Calloway committed to LSU on June 30.
-4-star WR Izaiah Williams, Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day: FLORIDA GATORS COMMIT. He picked the Gators on May 5.
-4-star Edge Kendall Jackson, Gainesville (Fla.) Buchholz: Committed to Florida over Kentucky and Miami on July 12.
-3-star DL D’antre Robinson, Orlando (Fla.) Jones: Committed to Texas on July 20.
-3-star DL Jayden Jackson, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy: Committed to Oklahoma on July 13.
-3-star OT Ory Williams, San Marcos(Texas): Committed to LSU on July 30.
