NC State football recruiting: Who’s next to commit?

NC State football recruiting has its 16th addition in the 2024 class after adding commitments from On3 Industry four-star receiver Terrell Anderson from Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley High. Who might be next for NC State football recruiting followers to watch?

Here are five suggestions.

On3 Industry three-star receiver Jimmar Boston

Anderson (S.C.) Westside High
The skinny: After the commitments of Anderson and fellow On3 Industry four-star Jonathan Paylor from Burlington (N.C.) Cummings High, the receiver slots in the NC State football recruiting class are filling up fast. Also moving quickly is the Pack’s recruitment of Boston. TheWolfpacker.com Ethan McDowell has logged a Recruiting Prediction for NC State with Boston, who was offered at the Alpha Wolf Showcase in July.

The 6-foot-0, 175-pounder caught 34 passes for 699 yards and seven touchdowns last season.. The On3 Industry ranking has Boston ranked the No. 9 player in the state and the No. 93 receiver nationally. Virginia Tech is also a prominent factor in his recruitment.

Linebacker Joshua Ofor

Jonesboro (Ga.) Mundy’s Mill Hill
The skinny: The Wolfpack added Joshua Ofor to the recruiting board over the summer, and progress has been made in the pursuit. Ofor was in Raleigh for the Alpha Wolf Showcase, and he has lined up an official visit for the home opener at Carter-Finley Stadium against Notre Dame on Sept. 9.

He also has taken an official visit to East Carolina and reports offers from Maryland and Ole Miss, among others. As a junior, the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder had 85 tackles, including 10.5 for loss, and added a pair of interceptions in 10 games last season.

On3 Industry three-star linebacker Jacorey Stewart

Milton (Ga.) High
The skinny: Jacorey Stewart is a verbal commitment to Kansas, a surprising development stemming from his official visit there in June. However, Stewart has remained in contact with NC State and is slated to officially visit for the weekend of the Pack hosting archrival North Carolina. He was also in Raleigh recently for the Alpha Wolf Showcase.

Odds are though that if Stewart flipped to NC State, that would be a development that unfolds later in the fall.

As a junior, Stewart (6-foot, 210 pounds) had 87 tackles in 14 games, including 16 for loss and five sacks. He also had two interceptions, 10 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and 11 pass breakups. He is rated the No. 100 linebacker prospect in the country.

On3 Industry three-star interior offensive lineman Tyler West

Andrews (N.C.) High
The skinny: Tyler West appears to be an ACC recruiting battle. After signs pointed towards Georgia Tech, the tide has shifted in the favor of NC State. McDowell has submitted a RPM for the Pack with West. The anticipation is that West is going to decide soon, with rumblings about potentially Friday at his season opener. Will he go ahead and announce a decision in the near-future?

West (6-foot-5, 275 pounds) is rated the No. 97 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 35 prospect from the state of North Carolina.

On3 Industry three-star receiver Christian Zachary

Saint Matthews (S.C.) Calhoun County High
The skinny: Like Stewart, Christian Zachary is currently committed to another school. He picked Virginia after an official visit to Charlottesville in June. However, since then Zachary has been in Raleigh, during which he picked up an offer from NC State. The Pack had hoped that Zachary would come back for the Alpha Wolf Showcase, but he did not make the trip.

Zachary, though, is scheduled to officially visit NC State for the Notre Dame game Sept. 9.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder is rated the No. 13 player from the state of South Carolina.
