Nightly Recruiting Briefing: Michigan State 2025 recruiting notes

In tonight’s Michigan State Nightly Recruiting Briefing we will discuss some 2025 recruiting notes. We will also discuss other small Spartan recruiting notes.
2025 CB hearing from MSU
Class of 2025 defensive back Noah Francis, originally of Houston (TX), now attending IMG Academy in Bradenton (FL) has been hearing from Michigan State secondary coach Harlon Barnett since receiving an offer in May of 2022. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder was visiting East Lansing when offered. Francis is not yet ranked by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. On3 ranks Francis as the No. 60 cornerback, and the No. 73 recruit in Florida.
“I really like their program,” Francis previously told SpartanMag.com. “I like their coaching staff a lot. Also, how they produce defensive backs.”
“I really really liked Michigan State,” Francis said. “I definitely want to come back and I like what they are doing with their program. Especially with Coach Mel Tucker, everything seems very good.”
Four-star RB also hearing from the Spartans
Michigan State also continued their pursuit of class of 2025 running back Akylin Dear, of Quitman (MS) since offering on June 5. Dear ranks a four-star, the No. 180 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 17 running back, and the No. 7 recruit in Mississippi. His other offers include Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Texas A&M, Southern California, Auburn, and many more.
“I like how he talked to me I can definitely see him coaching me in the future,” Dear told SpartanMag.com on Michigan State running backs coach Effrem Reed.
The Spartans also pursued Florida commitment Kahnen Daniels, of West Point (MS). Daniels stuck with his Gators commitment, sharing the same trainers as Dear.
