2024 Ohio tight ends hearing from Michigan State ahead of senior season

Michigan State is monitoring a pair of lengthy 2024 tight ends Daniel Ajose and David Ajose, of Akron (OH) Vincent St. Mary’s. With both measuring in at 6-foot-6, 210 pounds, the pair showcased their length and versatility camping with the Spartans in June. Their other offers include Toledo, Bowling Green, Eastern Illinois, and more.
Tight ends coach Ted Gilmore liked what he saw during the camp, extending an invitation to Spartan Dawg Con at the end of July. The twins made the trip to East Lansing, their second to Michigan State on July 29.
“It’s been very good to be honest. I really loved Michigan State for sure,” David Ajose said. “Definitely a place I want to be at. The experience I had visiting there was like no other college visits I have been on. I got very comfortable. We are hoping to visit again during the season if we can.”
The communication between the twins and Gilmore ramped up ever since the camp in June, with Gilmore being very honest with what he needs to see before extending the Spartan offer.
“He is a very straightforward and genuine man,” Ajose said.
“He is very interested in us after what we showcased at the camp. We checked all the boxes, but we need to show him physicality in game one of this season.”
Growing up in Akron, the twins are quite familiar with the Big Ten Conference and the Michigan State program.
“It would mean a lot to me,” Ajose said. “Of course, it would be a great opportunity for me and my twin. I always dreamed of playing in the Big Ten conference. We used to play with the Michigan State Spartans on the game NCAA 2014. It would be crazy to actually play with them in real life.”
Jason’s take:
Michigan State is in need of expanding the board at tight end, with no current commitments at the position in the class of 2024. The Ajose twins also provide the length and athleticism to possibly project at defensive end as they grow into their frames. Spartan coaches got the chance to evaluate the twins at the June camp in person, as they now wait to evaluate some senior season film.
The Spartans signed one tight end in the class of 2023, in highly regarded four-star Brennan Parachek. The Ajose duo would be complementary in providing depth to the room if they were to earn the offer. It is unclear where the twins sit on the tight end board at the moment, but the two trips to East Lansing make following their senior seasons noteworthy.
