NC State to induct Bill Cowher into ring of honor

NC State will recognize the storied career accomplishments of Bill Cowher later this fall by inducting him into the program’s ring of honor. He will be recognized before the Wolfpack’s Sept. 29 matchup against Louisville.
Per the GoPack.com press release, he is the only former NC State athlete in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Cowher won Super Bowl XL as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“Bill Cowher has left an indelible mark on the game of football and is certainly beloved by Wolfpack Nation,” athletic director Boo Corrigan said in the press release. “It is an absolute privilege to recognize his remarkable contributions and celebrate his outstanding career.”
“Throughout his career, Bill Cowher has epitomized what Wolfpack football is all about,” head coach Dave Doeren said in the press release.. “He is a true mentor, leader, and icon in the coaching profession, and we are so proud to be able to honor him in Carter-Finley Stadium alongside other NC State legends.”
