WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
More football news for you in advance of Saturday’s scrimmage.
There’s Akheem Mesidor looking ahead to the scrimmage and talking about the D line.
We also have an interesting Inside The Lines update with Luis Cristobal, Jr. If Mario Cristobal is looking to instill the culture he wants on this Miami Hurricanes program, he probably doesn’t have to look too far for a player that already intimately understands just the kind of work ethic and lifestyle that’s needed to fit that culture.
There’s also a second Inside The Lines feature this morning, this one with DT Ahmad Moten. It’s a position that needs depth help: Can he provide that? Don’t miss his thoughts.
In recruiting?
We look at the top remaining uncommitted targets on Miami’s radar after Colin Simmons headed to Texas yesterday. The Canes are still in it for several top guys.
And Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington 2025 four-star defensive back Antonio Branch has been no stranger to the Hurricanes’ coaching staff since they were permitted to start directly calling and texting recruits in that class Aug. 1. He has UM in his early top 2, so don’t miss that.
We also had an update on former Miami Hurricanes Tyrique Stevenson and DJ Ivey and how they are faring in NFL training camp thus far.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Thoughts on season … posted by Rosiecane
I’m cautiously optimistic the OL is vastly better than last years trashpile, but part of me thinks they may only be marginally better….but I definitely agree if the OL is a couple notches better, this offense will be pretty good. As I believe in Dawson, and I know what TVD can do when in the right system.
Imo we lose to both Clemson and FSU games, I don’t see any scenario where we beat either, they are both still better than us….I just hope we close the gap.
To me the 4 swing games will determine the season; A&M, UNC, NC St, and Pitt….at worst we have to split those games, and I’m hoping we win 3 of the 4, we will not win all of them, not with the holes we still have and a new staff.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“My role is to push everybody, put every ounce of existence into being the best teammate and best role player I can be for this team, this University. And to beat out as many guys as I can.”
Miami IOL Luis Cristobal, Jr.
