Who could be Auburn’s next commitment?

Who could be Auburn’s next commitment?

Auburn has been on so much of a hot streak that a week without a commitment is almost disappointing to fans. Believe it or not, spots will start getting tight with a few more commitments, so things will slow down soon. That is not the case right now.

Auburn is on the verge of adding more to its class before toe meets leather at the end of August.

Here are the most likely candidates to commit to Auburn.

DL – TJ Lindsey, Bryant (Ark.) IMG Academy

RANKING: No. 343 overall, No. 30 DL, No. 48 in Florida
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-3 270
THE 411: Lindsey announced on Monday that he would make his final decision on Saturday, Aug. 12 between Auburn, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, and Miami. Auburn has been sitting in a good spot with Lindsey since his official visit. Then, his parents visited Auburn for Big Cat Weekend when TJ was unable to make it. That boosted the Tigers even more. Auburn is the pick as of right now and we feel pretty good about it.

OL – Deandre Carter, Santa Ana (Cali.) Mater Dei

RANKING: No. 146 overall, No. 9 IOL, No. 16 in California
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-3.5 340
THE 411: It seemed that if Carter was going to have a final decision, it would be done by now. If Auburn were the choice, it seems as though it would be done, at least. There is still high confidence with the Tigers, however. The waiting game never makes any staff feel comfortable, but things are going well with Auburn and we think this one is coming to a close soon. If not in the next week or two, confidence will more than likely start to drop on Auburn’s side of things.

DL – Kamarion Franklin, Lake Cormorant (Miss.)

RANKING: No. 37 overall, No. 7 DL, No. 1 in Mississippi
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-5 260
THE 411: Franklin was unable to make his Thursday before Big Cat visit, but he made up for it the following Monday. That visit was an important one in regards to his future commitment, Auburn Live has learned. While Tennessee, Miami, and Ole Miss are all still in the hunt, Auburn could be emerging here as of Wednesday. With so many schools prioritizing him, this one may twist and turn a few times before an announcement comes. Auburn, though, is trending in the right direction.

LB – Jakaleb Faulk, Highland Home (Ala.)

RANKING (2025): No. 151 overall, No. 14 Edge, No. 11 in Alabama
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-3.5 225
THE 411: The younger Faulk was recently at Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend. This is another one of those recruitments that was interesting at first. Yes, his brother is at Auburn, but he is interested in some of the big schools that have offered, notably Alabama and Clemson. Now that he has a decision coming up in August, it seems likely that he chooses Auburn, but it is not set in stone. Faulk is a high priority for many schools. Auburn seems to be the team to beat, however.

Saf. – Zaquan Patterson, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna

RANKING: No. 80 overall, No. 3 Saf., No. 11 in Florida
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-0.5 185
THE 411: Patterson told Keith Niebuhr of GatorsOnline that he will have a decision on Aug. 22 or 23. He continues to say that all of his top five have a shot with him, even after a commitment happens. Either way, Auburn would love to have that commitment and work from there. Auburn and Miami have seemingly pulled in front according to our intel. Now that Auburn will not be getting KJ Bolden, do the Tigers put even more heat on Patterson? More than likely, yes.

LB – Bradley Shaw, Hoover (Ala.)

RANKING: No. 139 overall, No. 12 LB, No. 9 in Alabama
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-0 220
THE 411: Shaw visited Auburn for Big Cat Weekend and told Auburn Live that it was a great trip. Sources around Shaw believe Auburn is probably the team to beat. If there is one linebacker spot remaining for Auburn in its 2024 class, it would more than likely be reserved for Shaw. The Tigers very likely may push for something to happen before the season begins as schools such as Clemson and Alabama may want to do the same.

DL – Dimitry Nicolas, Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace

RANKING: No. 566 overall, No. 55 DL, No. 76 in Florida
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-3 260
THE 411: Nicolas visited for Big Cat and was unable to speak with reporters. According to sources, Auburn is the team to beat and could land him. The question is, will Auburn take him this soon? That is not known, but an answer could come before the season begins as the Tigers want to make as many moves as possible beforehand. As of right now, we see Nicolas as a candidate to join the class.
