Texas Longhorns Best Class Scenario: August 9 edition

Texas is about 30 hours away from knowing if the No. 1 ranked prospect in the state will pick the Longhorns over LSU and Miami.

The nation’s No. 1 ranked EDGE prospect Colin Simmons will announce his commitment around 2 p.m. central at Duncanville High, in what will be a packed gymnasium.

The Longhorns are expected to enter Thursday with the No. 18 ranked class in the On3 Team Rankings. With Steve Sarkisian and staff remaining in the hunt for a number of 5-star’s and highly ranked prospects, a third straight top 5 class remains in play.

Texas has its eyes on adding a few massive recruiting targets, including two who will decide in the next few weeks
