Top 100 recruit Grant Brix plans to make his decision before the season

Two weeks ago, the Nebraska staff had one last big recruiting event where they hosted one of their top remaining prospects for the 2024 class. Lineman Grant Brix from Logan (Iowa) Logan-Magnolia was in Lincoln for the sixth time which includes an official visit that he took to Nebraska on June 23rd. Brix made the most of the last week of the summer to take a few trips to get closer to making a decision.
End of the summer BBQ at Nebraska was what Grant Brix needed
Brix was one of about 30 total recruits in Lincoln that Sunday and he came to Lincoln to meet some of the 2024 commitments that he hadn’t met yet. He also wanted a chance to meet the two commitments in the 2025 class that were from Omaha.
“It went great,” Brix said. “I was able to do everything that I wanted to do which was meet everyone that I hadn’t met yet. There were a bunch of commits in the 2025 class that I didn’t know from Omaha, Jake Peters, and Landen Davidson from the 2024 class too.”
Brix may have had some people that he wanted to mee, but he also had some people that he wanted to see again. He has become friends with a couple of the members of the 2024 class for Nebraska after having been on a few trips together with them.
“It was great being around Daniel Kaelin and Carter Nelson. I have gotten to know Kaelin and Carter pretty good. I have been around them a few times.”
Visit weekend allowed for time to meet people and the coaching staff at Nebraska
Brix has seen what Nebraska has to offer. The scavenger hunt and other activities that weekend were fun, but the down time between activities and the opportunity to chat with the coaches really made the weekend great.
“I had a lot of fun and I was able to spend a lot of time with the coaches,” Brix said. “There were even some people that I met that I wasn’t planning on meeting like Christian Jones from Omaha Westside.
“There was a lot of time to meet with the staff and meet with all of the recruits that I knew already and also meet the other people that I wanted to meet. It was a great trip.”
Brix took trips to Kansas State, Oklahoma, and Nebraska the last weekend in July. He knows that he can’t make a bad decision and says that he is planning on announcing his commitment before the start of his senior season.
“I figured out that all three schools have some great people there and that there really isn’t a wrong decision in this situation,” Brix said. “It’s looking more and more like I will make a commitment before the season.”
