Report: Big 12 unanimously votes to admit Arizona State, Utah

The Big 12 has taken one more step to get Arizona State and Utah into the conference. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported the presidents and chancellors voted unanimously to admit both into the league.
The two additions would make four Pac-12 teams to make the jump to the Big 12. Colorado did so last week — a return to the league — and Arizona appears ready to join, as well. The Big 12 unanimously approved the Wildcats’ addition Thursday night. That would take the league to 16 teams after Texas and Oklahoma head to the SEC in 2024.
The next step for Utah is a Board of Regents meeting to make the move official, Thamel said.
Talks to admit ASU and Utah heated up in recent days after Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff presented a media deal to conference officials earlier this week. On Friday, Oregon and Washington announced their plans to leave for the Big Ten in 2024, as well.
