It’s time to dive into Tuesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with recruiting. The Lions will host three-star Philadelphia, Pa., Class of 2024 defender Omillio Agard for an official visit. He will be in town for a 48-hour all-expenses-paid trip the weekend of June 23. Before that, he will take similar treks to Clemson June 2-4 and Tennessee June 16-28. Michigan is also expected to host him for an official. However, the date of that trip is to be determined.

Agard, who stands 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, previously released a top five that includes the Lions, Tigers, Volunteers, Wolverines, and Alabama.

“PSU is the hometown team,” Agard told On3. “I’ve been on their board as their top priority since my freshman year. Coach Franklin and Coach Smith are always either showing up to my school to see me, or coming to my games! I love them, and my former head coach at my school [Gabe Infante] is a coach on PSU’s staff.”

MY OFFICIAL VISIT SCHEDULE:

Clemson is June 2nd-4th
Tennessee is June 16th-18th
Penn state is June 23rd-25th
Michigan is TBD pic.twitter.com/xx2aIOfU64

In other news, ESPN has released its top 11 cornerbacks in the NFL Draft. Former Lion Joey Porter Jr., checks in at No. 3. He is behind Devon Witherspoon of Illinois and Christian Gonzalez of Oregon.

“Porter is the biggest of the top cornerbacks and a favorite among pro teams running man-coverage schemes,” Matt Miller writes.

“He shows high-end instincts, speed, toughness and physicality, limiting opponents to 3.7 yards per attempt thrown his direction last season, tied for fourth-best in the FBS. Porter didn’t have any interceptions in 2022, but he did break up 11 passes and forced an incompletion on a nation-best 37.9% of his targeted throws.”
