After Big Cat visit, Auburn a major threat to flip 2025 UGA 4-star commit Jadon Perlotte

Auburn football on Wednesday flipped from Georgia five-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick, but are the Tigers done poaching the Bulldogs’ commits? Maybe not, according to Jadon Perlotte.
Perlotte, who is ranked the No. 38 overall recruit in the 2025 class, visited Auburn on Saturday for the Tigers’ Big Cat recruiting event.
Auburn made a huge impression on him. So much so that Perlotte said the Tigers have a very good chance to flip his commitment.
“Yessir,” he said. “They do.”
Perlotte, a four-star defensive athlete from Buford, Ga., had many reasons why Auburn is a major threat to in-state Georgia.
“The new facilities. It’s crazy,” he said. “I’ve never seen anything like it. And the love that the coaches showed. They’ve been watching me since my ninth-grade year and have kept being hard on me.
“I like the environment. I have friends and family that grew up here. It’s just the people and the love. It’s a family environment. Everybody is about one another.”
Perlotte impressed with Big Cat visit
Saturday wasn’t Perlotte’s first visit to Auburn this year. He came in April for the A-Day game. However, it was nothing like the visit for Big Cat.
“I came here for the spring game and it was storming,” he said. “Still loved the time then, but this was even better. I got to see everything about it. We just drove around Auburn a little bit … downtown. It’s crazy down here.”
Perlotte is listed and ranked as a linebacker, but Auburn isn’t limiting him to only one posiiton.
“It’s really just how I will be used,” he said. “I want to go to a defense that is going to use me all over the field, like safety, d-end, inside linebacker, outside linebacker … all over the field and help my team in any way.
“And that’s what (Auburn) wants to use me as, all around the field. Just be an athlete, a defensive player.”
Perlotte certainly is listening to the Tigers’ pitch. So much so that he said a change in his recruitment could be happening soon.
“Probably a surprise coming soon,” he said. “Maybe August.”
Perlotte, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, is ranked the No. 4 linebacker in the country and No. 8 overall recruit in Georgia, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He has been committed to Georgia since December 2022.
