OL Michael Carroll talks loaded visit to Penn State

OL Michael Carroll talks loaded visit to Penn State

Glenside (Pa.) Central Bucks East Class of 2025 offensive lineman Michael Carroll was back in familiar territory on Saturday at Penn State. The Nittany Lions legacy started the day by working out at the program’s final camp of the summer and then attended the Lasch Bash recruiting barbecue in the afternoon. He came away impressed with the entire presentation.

“It was really great. I felt like a priority today,” Carroll said. “I really liked when we went into the meeting room with all the offensive line coaches and just talked. The coaches said I really just keep improving every time they see me and every time I come up.”

The 6-foot-5.5, 295-pound prospect was the only underclassman pulled up to work with the group of four Penn State Class of 2024 offensive line commitments at the class. Being surrounded by Cooper Cousins, Donnie Harbour, Garrett Sexton and Eagan Boyer was a learning experience.

“It was pretty awesome to be in that group,” said Carroll, who singled out Cousins as the group’s leader. “It was great to connect with them a little bit, I felt like we had a great connection. It’s a great group of guys. I think they want me to commit.”

“I think they want me to commit.”

Carroll hasn’t been shy about his thoughts on the Nittany Lions, but said that talk of a Penn State commitment is a bit premature.

“Today left a big impact on me,” he said. “I really like how the staff treated my family, [they were] so kind and anything my family asked for, they would do it or go get. Like a drink or food as well as anything else. Little things, but they stand out to me. I hope by next summer or maybe even after this season [I can have a decision], not sure yet. Leaning towards one of those two.”

The trip was the fourth to Penn State as a recruit for Carroll. Rutgers got a visit on Friday and he’ll head to Michigan on Sunday. Carroll will return to Penn State in September for the Nittany Lions’ season-opener against West Virginia.
