3-star WR Jerel Bolder on NC State: ‘They’re definitely top three’

Jerel Bolder established himself as a top priority for NC State after earning an offer last summer during a camp. Over the past year, his recruitment has steadily heated up with a couple of SEC programs showing serious interest.
As he prepares for what could be a huge junior season on both sides of the ball, the class of 2025 wide receiver has a few visits in mind for the future. NC State remains near the top of his recruitment, and he is considering a trip to Raleigh for Friday’s Alpha Wolf Showcase.
“They’re definitely top three,” Bolder said.
If he does not make it to campus this week, he will likely travel to Raleigh for a game day. Wide receivers coach Joker Phillips is a huge reason why the Pack is a contender for the Marshville (NC) rising junior.
“I feel like, if I go to NC State, not even on a football aspect, even just a life aspect, he would have my back and make sure I’m doing the right thing,” Bolder said.
Bolder said he has not heard much about NC State’s new offense under coordinator Robert Anae, and he wants to make it back to campus soon so he can see how the receivers operate in the air raid scheme.
South Carolina is showing consistent interest in the rising junior along with Tennessee. The Volunteers are making a push with the prospect after Bolder camped with them earlier this summer. He will visit Knoxville again Saturday and said the SEC program has started to separate itself from the rest of the interested programs.
“Tennessee is really standing out right now,” Bolder said.
Bolder said Tennessee focuses primarily on his life outside of football when they talk, which he appreciates.
The receiver also camped at Clemson this summer and plans on returning there at some point. NC State, Tennessee and South Carolina will likely all host him in the future as well.
He already holds 13 Division-I offers and, after improving his speed and agility this summer, the 5-11, 187-pound junior plans on showing off his skills to schools this fall before advancing to the next stage of his decision-making process.
“What I’m really expecting is to do really good this year so I can accumulate more offers and start narrowing down probably at the end of the season,” Bolder said.
The On3 Industry Ranking considers Bolder the No. 418 recruit in the country, the No. 59 wide receiver and the No. 10 prospect in North Carolina’s 2025 class. South Carolina leads his Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 46.5 percent.
