WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, from over the weekend there was of course the huge basketball games for the men’s and women’s teams. And while the women’s team fell in the Elite 8, the men’s team made its first ever Final Four with a huge win over Texas yesterday. So we have your Gary Ferman columns off the games, recaps with reactions, player one on one video interviews after the games, photo galleries and more.

Also stay tuned today as Miami’s holding its Pro Day with TE Will Mallory, CB DJ Ivey, CB Tyrique Stevenson, P Lou Hedley, OL Justice Oluwaseun, LB Caleb Johnson, DL Antonio Moultrie, DE Mitchell Agude, LB Waynmon Steed, OL DJ Scaife and walkon RB Devon Perry and walkon RB Lucious Stanley all competing. We have your preview of that on the site this morning and will have results and reaction later this afternoon.

From over the weekend also be sure to check out legendary high school coach Ice Harris’ unique take off of Miami’s 2-day coaches clinic.

In recruiting? There was plenty of more news you can find on the site off numerous visits from top prospects.

Miami is continuing to trend in the right direction for Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star receiver Joshisa Trader, the No. 51 2024 prospect in the On300 and No. 8 receiver, after his visit to Coral Gables.

Plus five-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive lineman David Stone began his first of two consecutive visits to the University of Miami on Saturday morning and explained why he opted to visit Coral Gables for back-to-back weekends.

There also was Miami making recruiting progress with Lake Cormant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin on his unofficial visit to Coral Gables this weekend. He weighs in on his situation.

Rockledge (Fla.) four-star safety Georgia commit Jaylen Heyward brought his family to his unofficial Miami visit and UM made a great impression. Read about that as well.

Then there was Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2024 four-star receiver Chance Robinson, who talks about how his Miami visit was everything he expected.

Another visitor? Miami has found itself in a recruiting battle with Florida State for Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) The Benjamin School 2024 3-star ATH Ricky Knight. He recaps his UM visit and where things stand.

And Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic 2024 four-star EDGE Elijah Rushing was thoroughly impressed by Miami on his unofficial visit to Coral Gables this weekend.

2024 Missouri City (Tex.) Ft. Bend Marshall defensive back Joshua Lair is beginning to see his recruitment take shape after picking up a handful of Power Five offers since the start of the new year, most recently from the University of Miami. He updates his situation.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2024 On300 four-star safety Ryan Mack, the No. 201 prospect in the On300, had plenty to like about Miami after his first unofficial visit to Coral Gables of the spring.

Also on campus: 2024 Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep three-star defensive back Amare Sanders took an unofficial visit and left impressed.

Destrehan (La.) 2024 three-star ATH Anthony Robinson was Miami defensive coordinator Lance Guidry’s first recruiting call when he was hired as the Hurricanes’ new defensive signal caller in February, and the Canes are working to get him on board.

Plus after a recent visit to the University of Miami, Charleston (S.C.) Phillip Simmons High School four-star cornerback Troy Stevenson is ready to place the Hurricanes among his top schools.

There also was Loganville (Ga.) Grayson four-star 2024 tight end Kylan Fox updating his status – he has kept his eye on Miami thanks in no small part to Hurricanes sophomore quarterback Jacurri Brown.

Plus there was the weekend baseball series at Wake Forest, with game recaps and reaction as UM was swept by the nation’s No. 2 program.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

When does Mario go after Norchad? … Posted by vb4canes

Norchad is a physical freak! Dude could play, defensive end, or tight end. Long term, that’s his road to riches imo.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“It feels like a family here; I see them all very connected. The players are able to talk to the coaches, and the coach is able to talk to the players. Everyone responds very well to the criticism as well as the positive things.”
