Miami Hurricanes updated ACC Championship / over-under wins odds
The Miami Hurricanes 2023 season opener is less than two months away, and excitement is building in Coral Gables and beyond as Mario Cristobal and staff prepare for year two.
Now that the dust has settled (for the most part) after a hectic offseason filled with transfers and other surprises, we take a look at the updated over-under win total and ACC Championship odds for the Hurricanes.
When the initial opening picks were released the Hurricanes had the sixth-best odds out of 14 teams to win the ACC title with a +2200, according to Vegas Insider. Although Miami remained in the sixth spot in Vegas Insider’s most recent update, the Hurricanes’ odds now sit at +2300 heading into their opening matchup against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 1.
While the Hurricanes remained in their sixth spot, there was some movement at the top of the list, with Clemson +155 (previously +190) overtaking Florida State +185 (previously +165) with the best odds of winning the ACC Conference Championship.
Louisville, who were originally slotted with the fourth-best odds at +1100, saw the biggest rise among ACC programs, jumping into the third spot at +750 under first-year head coach Jeff Brohm. Following the Cardinals is North Carolina in fourth with a +850, and in fifth is North Carolina State at +2200.
Now that the ACC has eliminated its Atlantic and Coastal divisions and conference championship games will feature the two teams with the most victories, each ACC battle will be even more important in 2023.
With wins against any conference opponent more important than ever, according to Vegas Insider, Miami’s win total odds currently sit at 7.5, which is the fourth highest in the ACC and has them on the outside looking in at a championship appearance.
If you take a look at last season, the Hurricanes’ over-under win total was slated at 8.5, according to Vegas Insider, and we all know how that went with Miami going well under their projections with five wins and placing fifth in the Coastal Division.
With expectations lower than last year and a new look on both sides of the ball, it will be intriguing to see whether the Hurricanes can prove the Vegas experts wrong, but this time in a positive way.
