Deric Fabian announces transfer to Auburn in the portal

IF Deric Fabian came a game short of winning a national title with Florida this season at the College World Series. Now, after entering the transfer portal at the end of June, he will enter his upperclassman years at a new program in the SEC.

On Sunday afternoon, Fabian made it official by tweeting his commitment to Auburn.

Fabian appeared in 68 games for the Gators over his two seasons in Gainesville.

On offense, Fabian batted .233 in 180 at-bats. In a smaller sample size as a sophomore this season, though, he improved that number from his first season with an average of .289. With his 42 career hits, including six home runs, he posted 32 RBI.

Defensively, Fabian also finished with a fielding percentage of .966 in 124 chances.
