Five-Star Plus+ Alabama commit Ryan Williams updates the latest in recruitment, July visit plans

BRADENTON, Fla. — Ryan Williams is already embedded as the face of Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class.
Williams, the Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver out of Saraland (Ala.) High School, is the No. 2 recruit in next year’s class and has continued to add offers and explore options this spring and into the summer. Among the popular destinations for the elite pass-catcher have been Auburn, his father’s alma mater, Georgia, and also LSU.
After each visit, Williams has found his way back to Tuscaloosa.
“I’ve been enjoying it,” Williams told On3 of his recruitment this off-season. “When you think too much about it, it becomes stressful. I’ve been enjoying it and not caring what anyone says and just having fun with it.”
“Coaches can change, places change … it can all change fast,” the top wide receiver in the On300 for 2025 continued. “I always visit home because it’s home, and you have to visit home.”
Since committing to Alabama, the connections have only grown stronger. That includes Williams’ time around Holmon Wiggins as well as new Tide offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.
“I appreciate them a lot,” he started. “A lot of coaches are against it (visiting other schools), but they’ve been wholehearted with me and letting me do what I want and enjoying the process. You only get to go through this process once.”
“Our relationships continue to grow. They’re never stagnant. They never plateau. It just continues to grow,” Williams added.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder from the Gulf Coast make a few trips to Baton Rouge this spring and summer, and in the process secured an offer from the Tigers and Cortez Hankton. In the process, the two have hit it off.
“LSU was definitely fun, chopping it up with him and breaking down film,” Williams said of LSU’s receivers coach. “We had a good time being around the other guys from the hometown. We look good in the purple and gold.”
The Five-Star Plus+ receiver made his way to Athens and hit it off with multiple members of the Georgia coaching staff, namely Scott Cochran, Bryan McClendon and Kirby Smart.
“I definitely love the staff over there,” Williams said. “I talk with Coach Cochrain, Coach Smart, Coach B-Mac, and we have a great connection. I enjoyed my time up there a lot.”
Williams is aiming to get back to Alabama, Georgia and also The Plains later this month.
“They are continuing to push the legacy factor with me,” said Williams, whose father played in the Tigers’ secondary. “They want me to come up there and change the program around to get it back to where it was.”
