Making Georgia’s case to land 4-star WR Amari Jefferson

Making Georgia’s case to land 4-star WR Amari Jefferson

The stage is set for Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star Amari Jefferson’s commitment. The No. 103 overall prospect in the On3 rankings has set a commitment date of Aug. 5.

He’s also down to three schools. Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee are Jefferson’s top three.

Jefferson has been to Georgia four times. He took an official visit to Athens back on June 16. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favors the Bulldogs.

Georgia has a 31.6 percent chance of landing the four-star wideout according to RPM. Jefferson talked with On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons after announcing his top three schools.

The Bulldogs’ culture has Jefferson’s attention.

“It is about the culture at Georgia,” Jefferson told Simmons. “My relationship with the staff is strong and they send guys to the NFL every year.”

Georgia has a strong case to land the four-star wideout. He’s juggling three strong selling points thrown out by the back-to-back national champions.

We make the case for Jefferson to land in Athens.

Relationships

Jefferson has strong bonds with Georgia’s coaches. Bryan McClendon and Will Muschamp have been key pieces of the puzzle for Jefferson.

Jefferson’s high school quarterback is Whit Muschamp, the Georgia co-defensive coordinator’s son. That connection is an obvious one.

Jefferson has connected with McClendon from the start. They talk on a weekly basis. That relationship is key going into decision day for Jefferson.

Dylan Raiola and Ryan Puglisi are selling points for Amari Jefferson

Georgia has two quarterbacks pledged in the class of 2024. Five-star Dylan Raiola and four-star Ryan Puglisi are both Georgia commits.

Jefferson thinks highly of both signal-callers. Georgia’s future under center is seemingly secured. Jefferson has also watched tape on both and feels they’re as talented as any quarterbacks he’s seen.

“Those QBs are as good as any from my view,” Jefferson said. “Those guys can deliver the rock to all parts of field.”

The opportunity to win national championships and baseball

Coming to Georgia means an immediate expectation of winning championships. Jefferson is well aware of that. He’s counting on that being the case.

Jefferson has the opportunity to win titles high on his radar. Georgia’s latest College Football National Championship trophy is dustless while the Bulldogs prepare for SEC Media days as one of the favorites to win a third straight title.

Jefferson is also intrigued by the opportunity to play baseball in college. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has been open to allowing Jefferson to pursue that opportunity.

“I want to have an honest try to play baseball as well in college,” Jefferson said. “Before football took off I was going to college to just play baseball. Kirby (Smart) was cool with allowing me to attempt it.”
