Miami Hurricanes setting sights on 2025 4-star DB Antonio Branch

Miami Hurricanes setting sights on 2025 4-star DB Antonio Branch

Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington four-star 2025 defensive back Antonio “TJ” Branch is quickly emerging as one of the top South Florida talents in his class, and the Hurricanes are taking notice.

Branch attended a pair of Miami prospect camps and 7-on-7 tournaments in Coral Gables last month and is hearing regularly from the Hurricanes’ coaching staff. Miami is one of Branch’s top schools early on, and he also holds offers to programs including Michigan, Texas A&M, Florida State and Auburn, among others.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect is the No. 27 cornerback and No. 275 national recruit. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine lists the Hurricanes as the early favorite to land the four-star recruit with an estimated 69.8% chance.

“I talk to Miami a lot,” Branch said. “They’re a top school for me. (We’re talking) not every day, but pretty close.”

Branch said Miami running backs coach Tim Harris Jr. — whose father is the head coach at Booker T. Washington — has been his primary point of contact in Coral Gables, although he’s also spoken to Miami secondary coach Jahmile Addae and head coach Mario Cristobal. Branch lists Florida State, Texas A&M and Michigan as his other top programs.

He previously told CaneSport he felt “Miami is home” and is a fan of Cristobal. He added that there is no timeline in mind for announcing a decision but that he plans to play in college with teammate and fellow 2025 4-star Ben Hanks Jr.

But what’s Miami doing to impress him the most right now?
“They’re fixing to start winning,” Branch said.

The remainder of Branch’s summer is fairly open as the Hurricanes trudge through the July dead period, although he expects communication with Miami’s staff to pick up once September begins and he officially be an upperclassman recruit, where coaches will be able to contact him directly.

CaneSport’s Take

Branch was one of the five best South Florida 2025 recruits we saw at Miami’s prospect camps in June, and he and Hanks are shaping up to be massive national recruits at Booker T. Miami’s coaches watched him closely during both camps as he continued to catch the attention of Cristobal and Addae, both of whom interacted with Branch while he was on campus.

We definitely expect Branch to continue to be around campus this fall as his recruitment picks up, and the Hurricanes have marked him as a prospect they want to continue to evaluate.
