4-star LB Chris Cole names USC in top-8
Salem (Va.) four-star linebacker Chris Cole has been a popular name recently in talks USC recruiting of the linebacker position.
Cole is the No. 120 overall prospect and No. 10 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Virginia.
Cole took an unofficial visit to USC in June, a visit he told WeAreSC boosted USC in his recruitment.
Now, Cole had included the Trojans in a top eight list. The full group is USC, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Miami, Penn State, and Notre Dame.
The official visits
Cole took four officials in the month of June: Penn State (June 2), Virginia Tech (June 9), Georgia(June 16) and Miami (June 23).
WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader was able to speak with Cole previously and learned Cole’s still planning to return to USC for an official visit during the season.
“USC is an OV I’ve been looking forward to,” said Cole. “I’m definitely going back to visit in the fall and spend some time with Coaches and players!”

Cole gave a new comments to WeAreSC on his recruitment with USC. The quote gives you a good idea of what approach the staff is taking with Cole.

The 6-foot-2.5, 210-pound backer holds 25+ offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Virginia Tech currently has the lead to land a commitment from Cole at 35.2%. Penn State and Georgia are not far behind.

The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
