5-star in-state DB Na’eem Offord likes ‘integrity and aggressiveness’ of Auburn football

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – Parker High in Birmingham, Ala. is home to several talented recruits. One of which, 5-star athlete Na’eem Offord, is one of the hottest prospects in the class of 2025, period.

Offord, who recently earned his 5th star from On3, is the No. 4 overall player in the country, the No. 1 corner in the country, and the No. 2 player in the state of Alabama according to the On3 rankings.

He is just outside of the top 10 in the country in the On3 Industry Rankings.

Offord (6-foot-1 175 pounds) is one of the most athletically gifted players in the country regardless of class and position.

Auburn likes him on defense.

“Corner, well, just anywhere at DB,” Offord told Auburn Live on Tuesday.

Offord took in Auburn practice during spring

Offord was back at Auburn after multiple trips in March, but he has been all over in the past month.

“Lately I’ve visited Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss,” Offord said.

Offord liked the intensity of Auburn football practice.

“It was nice, it was nice,” Offord said. “They were fast-paced, moving fast, it looked more vocal.”

Close with many coaches on staff

When Offord visits Auburn, he spends time with several staff members.

“Most definitely,” Offord said. “Cadillac, defensive coordinator (Ron Roberts), I’m cool with all of them. We have a good relationship with them. Every time I see them they’re happy to see me and I’m happy to see them. We always make jokes and watch film, break it down, they tell me what I’m supposed to do, what the alignment is and all of that stuff.”

Both defensive back coaches, Zac Etheridge and Wesley McGriff, are involved as well.

The long-standing relationship happens to be with Tigers’ running back coach Cadillac Williams.

“Yes sir, I’ve known him a long time,” Offord said. “He tells me I’m an athlete and have a lot of talent–a lot of stuff people wish they had. He told me that I’m just a sophomore and there’s a lot of time to be even more developed.”

Who are some stand out schools?

While there is no top group yet for Offord, there are some schools standing out.

“Right now I really don’t have anybody at the top, but if I had to just put some names out: Auburn, you got Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Florida, and some other teams like that.”

What is an important pitch from schools? What will always matter until the end of his recruitment?

“Them staying connected to me,” Offord said. “Them showing me that they actually want me.”

Offord has some words come to mind when he thinks of Auburn.

“Integrity and aggressiveness,” Offord said. “And, I would say pride, they have a lot of pride, and they’re energetic, (the fans) and players also. They’re very energetic.”
