5-star Florida Gators QB commit DJ Lagway will attend UF-Tennessee game

When 5-star Florida quarterback commit DJ Lagway of Willis (Texas) visited the Gators in July, he said he’d return for multiple games at the Swamp this season, including the matchup with Tennessee.

For teenagers, plans often change.

But that one hasn’t.

According to DJ Lagway’s father, Derek Lagway, his son will be at The Swamp on Sept. 16 when the Vols come to town. For Florida, it’s shaping up to be a star-studded weekend as several commits and numerous important Gator targets plan to be at the game.

DJ Lagway is known to be a strong recruiter, and he no doubt will aim to spend time with at least two important targets who are expected to be in Gainesville that weekend.

DJ Lagway headlines an impressive visitors list

Four-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy is one of them. He plans to officially visit the Gators for the Vols game and might be the most important uncommitted recruit on campus given Florida’s immense need on the offensive line.

Four-star defensive lineman  LJ McCray of Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland also will be there. And he’s high on the Florida wishlist. According to McCray, he hears often from the Gator commits.

It’s possible another key Florida target will be in town for the game and that is 5-star Ohio State receiver commit Jeremiah Smith of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna. Lagway and Smith have become good friends during the recruiting process and spent time riding around the UF campus together on scooters in late July. Smith’s father told Gators Online on Monday the family will know next week if Smith will attend the Florida-Tennessee game.
