5 potentially headlining names in USC’s 2025 class

Since there is not much happening this time of year in the 2024 class, it is a good time to look ahead at what could be in 2025. There are only a fraction of the number of offers that will eventually be sent out but we can identify at least who the top targets are at this point. With some recent success on the field and now in recruiting, USC has set some strong foundations with prospects in 2025.
For this article, I will take a look at five names who could potentially be headlining names in the Trojans 2025 class.
USC already has one name committed who will be considered among the headliners in safety Anquon Fegans, who is a projected five-star prospect.
A headliner for me simply comes down to ranking. Top-100 guys are normally going to fall into that category but prospects in five-star range are the premium members of that group.
Here are five of my possibilities as headliners in USC’s class next year. (Any name not included does not mean I don’t think USC will get them. This is simply my opinion.)
RB Jordon Davison
This one is pretty easy to explain. He is an elite level running back in the backyard of USC at Mater Dei. He is ranked as the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 3 running back in the On3 Industry Rankings, so he is expected to compete for five-star status down the road.
USC is the early leader in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 48.2%. Kiel McDonald offered Davison when he was in eighth grade, so their relationship has been building for a while. Davison is also the type of prospect Lincoln Riley will put a lot of time and effort into in the hopes of adding him to his offense at the next level.
WR Andrew Marsh
Marsh is ranked as the On300’s No. 3 wide receiver in the 2025 class at this time. He is the No. 17 overall prospect, both in the On300 and Industry ranking, which just shows his prominence. He ability and style has made him an early target for Lincoln Riley and the interest is being reciprocated from Marsh. He has visited twice since April and is already tabbing USC as a contender in his recruitment.
Being from the Houston, Texas, area, there will be an all out battle from the regional powers such as Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, and others, but USC already seems to be an early standout. I also get the feeling Marsh is open to leaving home for school. He is already a nationally sought prospect, so it will be a long recruitment, but USC is in a good spot early.
OT Douglas Utu
Offensive lineman may not be the most sexy position to watch or consider a headliner, but ones of this talent level are an exception. Utu is a top-50 overall prospect and the No. 7 offensive tackle in the 2025 class. He is even ranked as a five-star by one recruiting service. The Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman standout has seen teammates and former Gorman players pick USC so the precedent is there.
USC is the current leader in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine over UCLA.
LB Nasir Wyatt
Yet another elite Mater Dei prospect, this time on defense. Wyatt is the No. 22 overall prospect and No. 1 linebacker in the On300 for the 2025 class. Anytime you land a top guy at any position, that is clearly a headliner. Wyatt has visited USC six times while he has not visited any other program more than once.
He measures in at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds and will likely be a prime prospect to be an early contributor at the next level. USC is a heavy favorite in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
CB Dijon Lee
We have another projected five-star prospect in the list as Mission Viejo cornerback Dijon Lee is ranked as the No. 24 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 3 cornerback. He has visited USC three times per the On3 visit center and already has a prediction in to land at USC from Sam Spiegelman. USC sits at 97% odds to commit to USC.
Lee will be in contention to finish the class as the No. 1 cornerback in 2025.
Honorable Mention
It would be a disservice to nor mention the likely No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class, quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis. There is plenty of talk of whether Lewis will reclassify to 2025, as it has been confirmed he will have the option to do.
Lincoln Riley and USC are thought to be the favorite at this time. Lewis would not just be a headliner, he would be THE headliner in the Trojans 2025 (or 2026) class.
