4-star WR JoJo Stone locked in with LSU after official visit

2024 Langston Hughes (Ga.) wide receiver JoJo Stone is locked in with his LSU commitment following his official visit. With his entire family with him, they were able to see why he picked the Tigers last July.
“I thought my visit was everything I expected it to be. Got to get all of my family members down to see everything, to see why I committed and chose the Tigers,” Stone told On3. “I feel good about everything. The way that everybody in my family was able to go down there and feel the same way I felt when I committed to the Tigers, it was a form of reassurance. I got deeper into the academic side and I definitely appreciate the school I’m going to.”
Wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton continued to build his relationship with him while on the visit.
“Coach Hankton is a real one. I trust him. I’m glad I committed to coach Hankton,” Stone said. “Going down there was just a form of reassurance. I feel good about everything I’m doing. My people got to talk with everyone and they feel good. It was a blast, obviously.”
Head coach Brian Kelly also spent some time with him on the visit, having in-depth discussions on why Stone’s locked in with LSU.
“I love how coach Kelly is getting used to Baton Rouge and with the coaches down there. It just shows by the team and the chemistry and they have. The word that I had with coach Kelly was we’re ready to get to it. We’re locked in. Touching base on everything, it was great conversations with coach Kelly.”
Stone keeps recruiting for the Tigers
Stone put on his recruiting hat with four-star EDGE CJ Jackson and four-star defensive back Jalyn Crawford. The Peach State prospects bonded in a big way on the visit.
“I actually got to share with the guys what I like about LSU and what I feel about LSU, show them what they see. I’m really happy to see those guys see why I chose the Tigers,” he said. “We actually recorded a podcast. It was the Georgia boys. It was pretty cool. We went in-depth on the podcast, talking about why we do everything we do, what we think about LSU, why we love LSU and what brought us on the OV. Just bonding there with the coaching staff down there.”
Stone shut down his recruitment and is now looking forward to enrolling early in December in Baton Rouge. He took UCF and Louisville official visits before locking it down with LSU.
“I was going to announce I was shutting down my recruitment after the visit, but it was just time. Everything kind of played out the way it was supposed to. The way it played out, it just showed me where I needed to be. That’s the best way I can put it.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he’s the No. 303 overall prospect in the nation and No. 54 wide receiver in the country.
