4-star WR Cortez Mills on Georgia offer: ‘That was big time’

Some of the nation’s best are stepping up and taking major notice of 2025 wide receiver Cortez Mills, a four-star prospect in the On300 rankings.

“From the past few months, the process has been going great,” he told DawgsHQ. “Schools that have been reaching out the most are FSU, Louisville, Miami, Texas A&M, Penn State, Clemson. The Florida Gators were reaching out before they offered me, but now, it’s even more. Georgia and UCF, too. They’ve been reaching out the most.”

The offer from the Dawgs came in recently, and it was one that caught Mills off guard.

“It was around 10 or so. I got a Facetime, and I didn’t recognize the number. Something told me to answer, though. I was just working out at the park,” he said. “I talked to (Georgia support staffer) Coach CJ, and we were talking about football-related stuff. He was asking if I liked slot or outside more. He asked who was reaching out to me. Then, he surprised me and told me I’d been offered by the University of Georgia. It felt great. That was big time. It felt amazing.”

Mills’ feelings were rooted in what he already knew of the defending National Champions.

“When I think about Georgia, I just think big time,” he said. “If you go there and do what you need to do, they’ll send you to the league. That’s where I want to be. Georgia has been looking at me since my freshman year, which is why I was surprised when they offered me. For two years straight, they’d just been looking at me. They’d told me they were going to come through, and then, they did.”

Now that the Dawgs are in the fold, Mills feels they can be a major player for his services.

“Georgia would be in my top schools for sure. That’s a big school,” he said. “If they keep communicating with me and staying in touch with me like they have, we can make something happen.”

He’s hoping to get up to see it all in person soon, as well.

“When I was on the phone with Coach CJ, he told me he wanted to get me up, for sure,” Mills said. “I have a busy schedule and am trying to see a bunch of schools. I’m going to FSU, Michigan, Clemson, Florida, Miami, and UCF. I’m trying to go to Nebraska, also.”

When the time for visits comes, Mills is clear as to what he’ll be looking at.

“I just want to get treated like family. I want them to show a lot of love and treat me like family. I want a home away from home.”

Cortez Mills is the nation’s No. 106 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 per the On3 Industry Ranking.
