4-star WR Cameron Sparks lining up spring, official visit plans
The recruitment of Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star wide receiver Cameron Sparks has continued to pick up, and he’s set to get down to the Sunshine State multiple times this month.
Sparks tells On3’s Chad Simmons that he’ll visit Miami this weekend and will visit Florida State on April 18. Both programs are also set to receive June official visits from the blue-chipper, along with Tennessee and Michigan.
Each of the four programs made Sparks’ top six schools back in February, as did Auburn and Georgia.
“Georgia, Tennessee and Auburn are in the SEC, which in my opinion is the hardest conference in college football,” Sparks told On3. “They have shown that they can develop players to get to the next level. I think Florida State is a powerhouse and Miami is recruiting well and they will be good in the years to come. Then, Michigan is coming off a good season. They have a good program and they have good history up there.”
It’ll be Sparks’ first trip to Coral Gables and his second to Tallahassee. Both ACC programs will look to make another impression on the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder — who’s currently trending to Tennessee in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
The Volunteers have had the in-state product on campus the most of his finalists and have the longest relationships with him. Josh Huepel and Co. delivered Sparks his first offer. Sparks told On3 in February that he’s aiming towards a summer commitment.
“I am looking for a place where I can get on the field the fastest and the coaches have the greatest relationship with me and my family,” Sparks said. “I also want it to be a place where my family is comfortable sending me to for three or four years.”
Sparks is the No. 147 overall prospect and No. 17 wideout in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Tennessee.
Sparks breaks down his top six schools
Auburn: “I like the way that (head) coach (Hugh) Freeze is leading the program. He is a program-changer. Since they’ve been there, they’ve brought in good recruiting classes and they’re getting even better.”
Florida State: “I like (head) coach Mike (Norvell) and his system. I also really like the way that the players play for him.”
Georgia: “They get guys to the next level. I think they have a really good program there.”
Miami and Michigan: “I like the way they’ve been recruiting me and they’ve been showing me a lot of attention.”
Tennessee: “Tennessee was my first offer and I’ve been talking to them since I was in eighth grade. I really like the coaching staff they have there.”
