4-star Texas DL Dilan Battle increasing communication, planning visit to USC

Shaun Nua and USC extended an offer to Arlington (Tex.) Mansfield Timberview four-star defensive lineman Dilan Battle back in May. The communication between the two sides was limited at the time but now, the relationship is growing and things are progressing between Battle and the USC staff.
Battle is the No. 281 overall prospect and No. 29 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also ranked as the No. 49 player in Texas.
Battle told me today that his communication with USC has picked up and he actually spent some time talking this summer with Nua working to plan a visit. He was not able to before July hit, but he is set on getting it worked out for the near future.
Battle mentioned Texas, Oregon, and Penn State as three other programs he is in good communication with right now.
His eventual visit to USC will be done so looking to check off a few boxes in what he is looking for in his future school.
“A place that feel like home and just an over all good environment. And a place that give me a chance to compete,” Battle said.
Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM)
The 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive lineman holds 15 total offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, TCU currently holds the lead at 30.2%.
So far, Battle has only taken visits to TCU, Texas, and Arkansas
RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
On3 NIL Valuations
Battle has an On3 NIL Valuation of $27K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
USC’s 2025 class
USC holds one commitment in the 2025 class in Oxford (Ala.) Thompson four-star safety Anquon Fegans.
Fegans is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also ranked as the No. 4 player in Alabama.
USC is not officially ranked in the 2025 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings due to lack of commitments, but already has the third highest recruiting score with just Fegans in the class. The Trojans are behind only Georgia and Alabama.
USC currently sits at No. 1 in the 2025 class in average prospect rating with an average of 95.01. Coming in at second place is Ohio State with an average rating of 94.97.
