4-star TE Kylan Fox does some shuffling ahead of final official visit

Loganville (Ga.) Grayson four-star tight end Kylan Fox was focused on three teams last week.

Fox, the No. 221 overall prospect in the On3 Industry rankings, is still favoring three schools before his commitment, which is expected on July 4.

Miami is now off the board for Fox. Fox expected to be in Miami on June 9. That visit turned into an official visit to Georgia Tech.

The in-state Yellow Jackets made a statement, so much so that Fox now has them included in his top three heading into his final official visit with Florida State next weekend.

“Georgia Tech has always been in contact with me through the spring and the summer, so I’ve always had that in my back pocket,” Fox told On3.

Georiga Tech made a few impressions on Fox throughout the visit.

“It was really nice,” Fox said. “They have a new coaching staff. They’re learning a new offense. The players love the new coaches. It’s going in the right direction. They’re definitely a contender.”

Georgia Tech makes unique pitch to Kylan Fox

One major new development was the Yellow Jackets turning to Fox as a potential wide receiver.

Georgia Tech is the first school to make this pitch to Fox. He’s talked with Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner and has respect for his history with Georgia and how they used the tight end position.

Fox and Grayson took part in Georgia Tech’s 7-on-7 on Wednesday. After his performance, Georgia Tech decided Fox could do some wide receiver things at the next level.

This new development has been a revelation. The four-star pass catcher is intrigued. Fox is now eyeing another visit to Georgia Tech for an unofficial to get some time with wide receiver coach Josh Crawford. Crawford was a coach at Valdosta High School, the school in Fox’s hometown.

“On the official visit, it was all tight end, but I was at Georgia Tech on Wednesday and they now want me to play wide receiver,” Fox said. “I’m open to all of it. Now I need to get back on campus one more time and have a position meeting with the wide receiver coach and see how that goes.”

Florida State to get the last word

Fox feels things will come down to his official visit to Florida State. He will officially visit Florida State on June 23.

After that visit, Fox will do some thinking. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favors Florida State. The Seminoles have an 80.5 percent chance of landing the four-star according to RPM.

Fox hasn’t made his mind up yet. He had high remarks for his official visit to UCF in the first week of June as well.

“Going into my official visit with Florida State, I pretty much have a top three of UCF, Florida State and Georgia Tech,” Fox said. “After I leave Florida State, I’m going to break down all three and see which one I want to go to.”
