4-star safety Xavier Filsaime commits to Florida
McKinney (Texas) four-star safety Xavier Filsaime has announced his commitment to Florida. He chose the Gators over USC, Oregon, LSU and Georgia.
Filsaime is the No. 28 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player in Texas.
“It was a real good vibe,” Filsaime told Donovan Keiser of Gators Online about his Florida visit on March 11. “I felt like he was getting into it with the players and making sure they really understood it. They don’t sit in meetings for more than 30 minutes. They walk through like crazy.”
“They showed a lot of love,” he added. “They made it seem like even though it was my first time coming down here after they offered me a few months ago, they showed me a lot of love.”
