4-star OT Solomon Thomas wants to experience ‘that great Florida vibe’ on upcoming visit

Four-star 2025 Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive tackle Solomon Thomas gets lots of insight into the Florida Gators these days from a good friend who’s currently on the team. That player is Roderick Kearney, a freshman offensive lineman also from the greater Jacksonville area.
“He says he loves it,” Thomas told Gators Online. “He loves it over there and I’lll take his word for it.”
Thomas, listed at 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds, is the No. 31 recruit in the country according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s the No. 4 offensive tackle in the class and No. 5 rising junior in the state of Florida.
Thomas plans to visit the Gators next weekend as part of a busy three-day period.
Solomon Thomas will visit the Gators on July 30
“I’m going to South Carolina on Friday, then Miami on Saturday and then UF on Sunday,” he said. “I’ve probably been (to Gainesville) three times.”
With the Gators, Thomas said there is much to like about the program.
And when asked if Florida is a factor in his recruitment, he replied, “Yes sir, of course.”
“They’re close to home. They keep in contact,” Thomas said. “But I also know people that have been recruited to Florida on the offensive line that are powerhouses. My guy Rod from Orange Park. He has a great chance of starting his freshman year.”
Thomas said Kearney has told him Florida’s offensive line coaches are very tough and demanding, but fair.
“They want the best for him,” Thomas said.
During his upcoming visit, Thomas hopes to have another good experience in Gainesville.
“Of course, I want to experience that great Florida vibe,” he said. “The home feel. I want to see the great communication between the coaches and the players and the assistant coaches and the head coach.”
